Ahisma

A fundamental ethical virtue meaning no injury which is and has been highly respected throughout the centuries by Hindus and Buddhists as well. Mahatma Gandhi, most recently, used the principal of ahisma in the development of his philosophy of passive resistance which brought about great political changes in India.
