Clara Bow

1905-1965

As the most famous flapper, she defined the roaring 20s. Her liberated sex life, her hairstyle, her clothes, and her trademark bow mouth togetherrepresented what it was to be in Hollywood in the Jazz Age. Starring in over 50 films in the 1920s and early '30s, this impoverished child took her looks to the bank.  Her career failed to make the transition into as her Brooklyn accent turned audiences away from her motion pictures.
