Battle Of Waterloo

June 17 - 22, 1815

The last action of the Napoleonic Wars was fought near Brussels, Belgium. Facing the allied armies of Britain, Prussia, Austria, and Russia Napoleon defeated a Prussian force at Ligny and then turned his attention to the British who took up a strong position just South of Waterloo. Wellington routed the French after being joined by Prussian forces. Napoleon abdicated on June 22.
