Greek mythology, war between Greeks and Trojans which began when Paris abducted Helen and took her to Troy. The Greeks besieged Troy for nine years and won by pretending to depart and leaving a wooden horse. Greeks hidden in the horse opened the city gates to their army, which sacked Troy.
