Jubal A. Early

1816 ­- 1894

Confederate General Prominent in the battle of Chancellorsville and in the Gettsburg Campaign. In 1864 he led a raid that reached the outskirts of Washington, D.C. Early was defeated in 1865 by P.H. Sheridan in the Shenandoah Valley and was relieved of command.
